Official sources come first
Operator, railway, tourism authority, and government sources are the starting point for schedules, reservations, pass conditions, luggage rules, access, and onboard services. Every journey registry entry identifies its official sources and the date they were last checked.
Schedules and fares are not evergreen
We do not present a timetable, fare, seat, cabin, operating day, or pass condition as permanently available. When a guide discusses a changing rule, readers should use the last-checked date as context and confirm the current position with the operator before booking.
Pass advice starts with a real itinerary
A pass is not automatically better or worse than point-to-point tickets. We compare the legs a traveller plans to take, required reservation fees, excluded services, validity windows, and the value of flexibility. Current prices and terms remain the operator’s authority.
Images are local and traceable
Published photography is stored locally for reliable rendering. Each image records its creator, source page, linked licence, retrieval date, filename, and modification note in our source ledger and public Image Credits. Captioned hero images use an empty image alt so assistive technology does not announce the same description twice.
Commercial relationships will be visible
RailTravel Guide does not currently publish affiliate inventory, booking products, live prices, or sponsored recommendations. If commercial links are introduced later, they will be verified for this project and clearly disclosed near the recommendation. Payment will not determine our route comparisons or planning conclusions.
Corrections belong in the guide
When official information changes, we update the relevant entry and its checked date. We do not quietly preserve a known outdated rule for the sake of a tidy article. The practical decision must remain consistent with the source it cites.
